Beach… This resort is planted on an amazing stretch of beach in the Bayahibe area on the Caribbean Sea. You will fall in love with the contrast of the blues of the sea and white of the powdery sand all with the great family and couples luxury of this property. It misses on a couple of the water features for the family that other resorts have but I don’t think that will hamper your wristband and reservation free vacation! The area is well known for beach and water tours, so get out and see the area while you are here!

Hilton La Romana

Location- Bayahibe area approx. 1 hour to Punta Cana Airport

The newly renovated Hilton La Romana will soon become favorites with families and couples alike. This resort used to be the Dreams La Romana which had a large following, and the new management just made it better! They added a water park and split the resort into adults and families which seems to be a popular trend lately!! The beach in this area is one of the best in the Dominican, hands down! The small village of Bayahibe is a neat little stop to go explore and if you are interested the diving is close by, best in the Dominican Republic.

Riu Republica

Adult, Couples

Location- Approx 30 minutes from Punta Cana Airport

Ok, not sure where to start. The Riu Republica is a standalone Riu property with the only adults only water park directly at the resort in the Caribbean!! If you pair that with the multiple swim-up bars and disco it makes it a great adult only spot and often well priced!! To add a little value, you get free access with transportation and drinks to the Riu complex for two themed pool parties!!

Dreams Onyx

Family, Romantic, Luxury

Location- About 45 minutes north of Punta Cana airport

The family resort, Dreams Onyx might be best suited for a little older kids with some activities such as a foam pool party. The resort did build a brand new a brand new water park making the resort that much better! Our favorite spot is reserved for adults and preferred guests with “island” over the interconnected pool with wait service and swim up bar! The main pool can be quite lively, nothing like the Breathless next door which adults have full access to for those evenings the kids are entertained!

Breathless Punta Cana

Location- Approx. 40 minutes from Punta Cana airport

This is Vegas on the beach… Without a doubt one of the best party resorts out there! DJ’s throughout the day, entertainment staff, pools and 5* service without out wrist bands or need to make dinner reservations make it a perfect fit for those looking to keep it going all week! They have a small casino on site, a busy nightclub and some pretty entertaining shows and theme nights. If you need a break, head to the more quiet Now Onyx next door to refresh for the night inevitable party!

Secrets Cap Cana

The cream of the crop… This gem by Secrets is rated one of the best resorts in the Caribbean. Located in the upscale gated community of Cap Cana you have easy access to golf, tours, fishing and an easy drive to the lively Bavaro area if you are looking for more of a party. Expect nothing but the best from this property which would be a sure bet for any couple, honeymoon, anniversary or engagement (Ps, we can help plan a surprise)!

Melia Punta Cana

Location- 16 km from Punta Cana Airport

The Melia Punta Cana is pushing up in popularity with the typically well priced resort in DR and the quality of Melia after some nice renovations completed in 2019! The Family friendly Melia Caribe and Melia Punta Cana are both directly on the beach and neighbor each other. Need something more, look at the Level for the extra perks some crave! The newly branded wellness retreat is selling it as more of a tranquility for your mind and your body… Take a trip and see what they mean!!

Grand Bahia Principe Fantasia

Location- 27 km from Punta Cana Airport

The Bahia Principes are typically large complexes spilt into “sections” but called different resorts and this one doesn’t change from that. This is a very large complex but this particular resort is geared towards your family, I mean it has a castle… They do offer the family of five and some activities for kids and the kids water park as well!! A solid choice for an all inclusive, if you can get over the size of the whole complex!

Hyatt Zilara/Ziva Cap Cana

Location- 20 minutes from Punta Cana Airport in Cap Cana

The Brand New Hyatt Zilara and Ziva the “Hyatt twins” are located in the amazing beach destination of Cap Cana area of the Dominican Republic. Adults have free access to either resort which is an amazing perk!! You can live in the lap of luxury in your adult-only resort and head over to the lazy river or water park to enjoy the 7 slides!! 24-hour room service and top end service will put this resort at the top of many people’s list!! The area is a gated luxury community with easy access to the ocean, golf, and even horse riding. Take a serious look at this property for your family or couple’s trip!

Nickelodeon Punta Cana

Location- 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport

This might be the best branded resort for younger families… How fun! Some of the kids favorites all over the resort with the themes of even some of my favorite characters. Family of 5 and swim outs, great dining and even a well-appointed gym (like anyone has time to work out with a family vacations!). Smaller resort and high quality means it has a higher price tag, but it maybe just enough to hang out with Sponge Bob!!
